OK. so jon and i decided to go out to eat and have some tasty gnocchi* and went to paesano's. this place used to have this really superly tasty gnocchi on its appetizer menu... it was the place where jon tried his first gnocchi. *sigh* those were the happier times. now? nope. no gnocchi. it is no longer there, it was replaced by
fried ravioli ($4.95). this stuff was ok, but it was pretty darn spicy for just ravioli. along with the ravioli we got
bruscetta ($4.95), a favorite appetizer of ours to order... and found that it definitely is not a favorite here. i got some
soup ($2.75), and that was good... pesto-y... but it was quite small for the price we paid.
salad ($5.75) came with a bunch of these funky radish onion things. different. it was ok. jon had a
bbq chicken pizza ($8.25). that was tasty.service: 7

oh good god could there be a cleaner bathroom? no. hail to the beauty of the MEN'S bathroom at paesano's. yes. the men's was immaculate. the women's was taken, so i went to the men's. i was getting ready to hold my breath and i opened the door and... spotless. it was beautiful. i had jon come in and we looked around. "there must be a drain. there has to be. they must hose this place down everyday." jon likes the idea of having all areas that could get dirty have a drain so it can just be flooded and drained. like movie theaters. he thinks that's how they should be made. nope. no drain. "wow... how do they do it..." the urinal was sparkling, the toilet had no nasty droplets of pee everywhere, and the trash was full, but not overflowing. soap was filled and the sink was clean. i could go on and on but i will now stop.
*gnocchi: [NYOH-kee; NOH-kee] Italian for "dumplings," gnocchi can be made from potatoes, flour or farina. Eggs or cheese can be added to the dough, and finely chopped spinach is also a popular addition. Gnocchi are generally shaped into little balls, cooked in boiling water and served with butter and Parmesan or a savory sauce. The dough can also be chilled, sliced and either baked or fried. Gnocchi are usually served as a side dish and make excellent accompaniments for meat or poultry.
